The P.T.A. is an active organization that is open to all parents/teachers. We support the school, its programs, staff, and students. We sponsor events for the entire family to promote a sense of community and generate essential funds. Fund raisers support field trips, the Science Lab, computers and technology support, sports programs, provide teachers with funds for classroom supplies and any area which may require additional funding. P.T.A. promotes family involvement with events like our Watch D.O.G.S., All American Jog-a-Thon, Winter Wonderland, Grandparents' Tea, Starr Knights Out on the Town, Movie Nights, and the Carnival. P.T.A. also coordinates classroom parent volunteers and classroom coordinators who organized class parties, volunteers for field trips, and assists the teachers when needed. The P.T.A. strives to enhance Starr Elementary in whatever way possible, and to bring together home, school, and community. Each and every one of our parents, teachers, and community counts. Your membership and involvement in our P.T.A. allows a stronger voice, more successful fund raisers, and most importantly, a deeper level of involvement with our children and their school life.
